Most frizz happens while you sleep. A two-minute routine at night makes a visible difference to how long your braids stay neat.
1. Cover your hair
Use a satin or silk scarf or bonnet. Cotton pillowcases create friction that roughs up the braids and dries out your hair. A satin pillowcase is a good back-up.
2. Gather long braids
Put long braids into a loose, low ponytail or a loose bun before covering — never tight, to avoid pulling on the hairline.
3. Keep the scalp comfortable
A light, non-greasy scalp product can help if your scalp feels dry. Avoid heavy build-up.
